To be stuck inside of Mobile, with the Memphis blues again...

b'roo dress

You should so hear me do Dylan sometime. I kill it. Trust me. Oh and when I say 'kill' there, I mean in the good way, not the ScarJo doing Tom Waits way. SRSLY.

I adore the pattern on this dress, its way... something. I always wear a bathing suit under it because it really needs to be taken in but AS IF I'd actually getting around to something like that.

Blah blah blah. I was going for some sort of boho filthy hippie vibe here 'cause Sasquatch! is this weekend and I'm uber wishing I was there. This is a total music festival dress. I don't get to go to Bonnaroo this year. My heart is broken into a million thousand bajillion pieces. Moving on.

I'm thinking during the time I should be there I could do some sort of music festival fashion week. Like what I would wear if I was there. Wishful (delusional) thinking sort of thing. Its a completely brilliant idea, I know, but we all know how bad I am at follow through.

ANYWAYS. This is getting too long.
I'll try and do these more frequently since I now have tripod.
I look so pissed off in a lot of my pictures. I really need to learn how to give good face.

Dress: Hell if I know... its old. Sandals: Walmart Bag: Gift Earring: Ebay

want you to make me feel like i'm the only girl in the world

I've been on a Rihanna kick tonight. I guess its a step up from the East Asian Movement earlier. Not that there's anything wrong with Ri, I completely <3 her. Just not my usual listening preferences. I think I need to listen to Umbrella now. Lets take it way back to 2007.

I finally found a flower print cardi that I liked and thought it paired nicely with this dress. I've had this dress for a while. I love the length.

I've got nothing else, guys. Life has been pretty overwhelming & meh. So sorry.

Who gives a fuck about an Oxford comma?

My camera took a little tumble during the taking of these pictures. :( Its doing okay right now, but I think I should probably invest in a tripod. I kind of liked this outfit. I should probably re-shoot. Meh. I'll remix it first.

blazer: vintage  top & jeans: beall's  shoes: target
I've been really keen on glasses chains lately. I found some pretty gold ones. They match a pair of my eye glasses nicely, but I need to find some sunglasses they would coordinate with. Sturdy sunglasses. I'm really bad at breaking them. Any suggestions?

Raindrops keep falling on my head

dress: vintage  bag: thrift  socks: target  shoes: tj maxx maybe?

I wasn't going to buy a new Easter dress this year because I have so many dresses already. I saw this one and it was so floral and pretty, I just couldn't resist.

I've been coveting a bag like this for a couple weeks now and it was a total steal. Its smaller than the bags I normally carry, but I'm really liking it. I should probably downsize anyways.

I've had these shoes for a really long time. I also have a headband that matches them. I rarely wear both because the headband squeezes my brain a lot and I'm not so good at walking in heels. Balancing on a seawall probably wasn't my brightest idea, but I didn't fall in once!

I guess the change in my pocket wasn't enough

This dress doesn't photograph so well. In person I think its much lovelier. Maybe it's just where I take the pictures though. My parents house is really ugly so I'm forced to take shots in front of these dumb palm trees in the back yard.

Oh well, I'm moving this week, so I'll have to find all new places to take my pictures. Sadly there aren't any fantastic trees around the new house at all. I'll have to explore the neighborhood and see what interesting locations I can find.

The best part of the new house is that it is less than one mile to a Target. Granted it's just a dinky Target, but its one none the less. Quite a far leap from the 100+ miles I was this summer. I hope I don't go broke.

Speaking of Target, I had a panic attack there last week. I haven't had one in forever. I've been extremely stressed out and worried and it just came over me. I couldn't go anywhere and hide either so I was wandering around trying to distract myself. I was all numb and tunnel visiony through the whole store, but I did manage to try on these beyond adorable shoes. They're like 4 inch wedges so I am unbelievably tall in them. I have to have them though. When they go on sale.

Hat & Sandals: Target  Dress: Thrift  Earrings: Bealls
I think all my clothes come from these 3 places. I really need to branch out and find a h&m or Forever 21. Fort Myers is lame!

Now Playing: Cee-Lo Green. You know, his performance at the Grammy's with Gwyneth Paltrow almost made me like her. Almost.

with the taste of poison paradise

I thrifted this skirt last week. Its pretty alright. I'm sure it'll look better once I lose some weight, I'm kinda curvy in it right now.

I love the little flowers. It looks handmade too. No tag or anything.

I'm so jealous of people who are good at sewing. I'm okay at reconstructing or mending, but the only thing I've ever made from 'scratch' if you will is a poodle skirt a few years ago. I wish I still had it. It was super cute. Kinda short though.

Glasses & Top: Bealls  Sweater: Target  Skirt: Thrift  Shoes: Someplace in Georgia

Speaking of reconstructing/ mending... I have this awesome shirt that I hulked the back out of a couple months ago.
I don't know how, it just happened. It has a tear in the middle of the back. So I was thinking I should just take out a panel of the back and put some embroidery or sheer fabric or something in. I found the best sheer butterfly fabric at the store the other day and bought some. Now I just have to get the cajones to make my snips and stitches. I don't know why I'm so scared. Its not like I wear the shirt now anyways. I'm hoping that putting it in my blog will hold me accountable.

Ha! Yeah right. My batting average is like 50% right now. We'll see what happens.

Now Playing: Yes, sometimes I listen to Britney Spears. Deal with it. (Toxic)

I really love manatees. They are so sweet. When you see them irl they are so much bigger than you expect. They have the cutest faces.

This one reminded me of a shar pei we used to have.

Octopi are a different story completely. I'm sure you already know that. They are creepy as hell. They're all boneless and suctiony. Shudder. SRSLY. OMG. And their heads are all globular. Just writing this is giving me the creeps. Unless they're cutely illustrated they are so not worth it.

I adore this dress. I purchased it from a thrift store for a mere $1. This was the first time I wore it and its completely perfect. So comfortable and a really good length. I wasn't worried once about showing the world my butt. Thats a pretty big worry when your dress is shorter. The material seems like it won't wrinkle very easily which is a bonus. I think I'll be wearing this dress a lot.

Headband: Target  Dress & Shoes: Thrift  Earrings: Bealls

Bag: Target  Scarf: Thrift
Logo a gogo really wanted to go to Bass Pro Shops so we headed out there. Its located in an open air mall so we hung out there all day. They have this playground type deal with sea animal statues that we clowned around on for a little bit. Then we headed to Borders which is closing and found a lot of nothing.

except this snake. And a Rilke book.

We ate lunch at Red Robin (Yum). That place is awesome. They have cupcakes now and of course I had to try one even though I prefer mine ugly (muffins). The one I had was freckled lemonade which is a completely genius idea for cupcakes that I never thought of before. I'm so going to make my own version one of these days.

Ross had these dress form type decoration things but the local stores were sold out. I spied one out there. Its smaller than I thought so I was lugging it around the store, trying clothes on it to see if it would work. It potentially could, but the shoulders are quite narrow. I really liked the wrought iron look of it but I really didn't want to cart it around on the bus and stuff. They probably would have made me buy a ticket for it and I didn't feel like having people looking at me weird because I was carrying a wrought iron headless person. Now that I'm thinking about it I wish I would have bought it. I have some really great ideas running around in my head for pictures. Mehhh. Maybe I'll find one this weekend. Or maybe online will be cheaper. Hrm.

We stopped by Target and I was so good and bought absolutely nothing! I'm so proud of me! Its getting harder and harder to not justify purchases though. Like now, my ankle is all messed up so I'm thinking I should wear these boots that lace up and have a lot of support. I don't really have something that goes with them so well, but Target has this perfect dress (with pockets) that I think would look dynamite with those boots. So see, complete necessity! Its for my ankle health!
