since you've been gone

i've been hiatusing for a while now.  i have so much to catch up on and of course logan won't cooperate.
le sigh.

i'll post some pictures.

i tried to make an outfit post before i left georgia.  i'm not happy with it.  i need to get a good camera instead of my crappy phone.  or get my freaking holga.  so at least they look cool.  or take some detail shots.  i guess it's all up from here kids.

dress: thrift  shoes: target  necklace: forever 21

well, if you know me... you know i have this unnatural obsession with target.  the closest one to my grandma's house was like 100 miles away so i've been going through major withdrawal.  logan and i took a trip to the bradenton one last week.  as far as targets go, it was puny, but i was pretty happy just to be in my mecca again.  he was kind enough to document my explorations since he was bored in the shopping cart.

i enjoy logan pictures.  he gets interesting angles.  i think i have some more on my phone i could put up.  he's my little lomographer.

here's an embarrassing one of him, for good measure.
i'm so leaving this up until he starts dating.

okay, onto the next.  i'll try to post more frequently.
maybe queue some up.

Favorite superhero & why?

I don't like this question.  I would say Batman, but he's not technically a superhero.  He's a vigilante.  Which imo is completely better than superhero.  A vigilante isn't born with superpowers.  He has a keen mind and takes what God gave him and Macguyver's the hell out of it and kicks total ass.
I could also say Wolverine since I named my son after him (sort of) (and in retrospect I should have picked the Hulk because he's so freaking huge and angry... lol), but again, Wolverine is not a superhero.  He is a mutant.  Mutants are closer to superheroes because they have superior talents, but they weren't necessarily born with them.  A lot of times, these abilities are thrust upon them without their consent.  They do the best they can however, and save the world, even though the world doesn't understand them.  I guess this is what makes them 'super' heroes.

I'm sorry, I've gone and confused myself.  Could you please repeat the question?

I leave you with the original 'superman' desiring a cookie.

A picture of somewhere you've been.

the face I am making is due to the fact that I don't like beer.
Okay, well I picked this picture for a few reasons.  First of all, St. Louis is freaking awesome.  It's probably in the top 3 or 4 places I'd like to move to.  That feels like bad English, but I'm not positive.  I really need to get an old school Grammar book.  Anyways, I love the colors in this picture.  The red and goldy/coppery/bronze, my coat is like an khaki green.  My hair was totes perfect in St. Louis too.  The weather was nice and cold with no humidity.  It was a glorious length and the color was pretty righteous.  Not the point.  The main point,
or the reason I most picked this picture, besides how semi-enjoyable my trip was, is in the lower right corner.  You can barely see it.   That is my favorite purse EVER.  Right now, it is sitting in a storage unit down in stupid Fort Myers, missing me I'm sure.  Well maybe not, but I am missing it.  I had finally switched it out for summer before I came up here and now that it's approaching fall, I really need it!  Someday, we will be reunited and it will feel so good.

I'm sorry, I digress so much.

feel good, inc.

I've kinda had my guitar tuned to sad* lately.  It seems like nothing has been going right.  I know some of it can be attributed to mercury retrogradin', but lesigh.  I feel pretty impotent about everything.
*(urbandictionary.com)

I've come across a few things that have made me smile and I wanted to share them.

I'm a big fan of Abraham Lincoln stuff so this commercial makes me giggle:

JGL is pretty much perfect.  Like you would never even want to date him perfect because you would never want any reason to think he's not.

I came across GMH today and it's super cute and heart-warming. "It's like fml for optimists"

Finally,  House marathons make me smile.  Idk, I just can't get enough.  I have a problem.

edit:  HOLY RATTLESNAKES
I had to throw this in here because I've been on a Neutral Milk Hotel kick & this particular video is glorious.

Lastly, (for real this time) I'll leave you with a picture of Paul Rudd looking serious about a giant pickle.  I don't like pickles, but I do enjoy me some PR.
pickle you, kumquat.

cheers!

A habit you wish you didn't have:

This one is easy... Biting my nails!!!  I've never seen my real nails longer than my fingertips & I've never been able to stop no matter what I paint on them.  TRAGIC.

Props to me for finally quitting smoking though.  I do die for a cigarette every now and then, but I remain strong.  .

tuesday night's alright for reading

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil

I love (times infinity) this book.  Just look at the cover, so beautiful and perfect for this book.

From wikipedia: "The title alludes to the hoodoo notion of "midnight"; the period between the time for good magic and the time for evil magic; in "the garden of good and evil," which refers principally to Bonaventure Cemetery."

This book is a true story, centered around Savannah and based on a murder at the Mercer house.  The book talks about the different characters that reside in Savannah and its in a kind of Gothic style, with the voodoo and whatnot.

I really do completely love this book.  I haven't read it in a couple years and now I'm absolutely itching to.  The way it is written, you can not tell it's a non-fiction book.  It engrosses you and the characters are very colorful.  I think my favorite is the Lady Chablis.

I enjoy the movie, I am a huge John Cusack fan, but nothing compares to the book, natch.  So if you enjoyed the movie you must read the book.

When we went to Savannah last month, I really wanted to go on the walking tour.  We didn't have enough time, probably because it was imperative that I go to a Target (I have this really bad addiction and where I have been staying has no Target at all) so I chose cute clothes over MitGoGaE.  Don't worry, Target was almost everything I dreamed of, and we did manage to drive by the Mercer house on the way to Forsyth Park and I took a total goober picture.  There's always next time.

we<3it

I'm kind of an astrological nut.  I mean not to the extent that I don't get out of bed if my horoscope says it's going to be a bad day, I do take it all with a grain of salt.  I enjoy looking at the charts of people I meet and learning where their Moon and Mercury and what not are.  Some people scoff, but if you are a 'why, why, why?' person like me, you'll be amazed at how the positioning of your planets at the time of your birth affects your personality. Tarot.com is my favorite place to get horoscopes from because they tend to be pretty spot on.  This one for today, is so ridiculously me:

"You like gathering information even when it's not helpful. Today, however, the earthy Virgo Moon gives you the analytical tools you need to sort through the data and keep only what you can use. Although you may find a way to balance your unquenchable curiosity with your current penchant for practicality, it's still easy for you to forget what you're doing now and get distracted by something that looks like fun."

Thats all for now.
